Brian Ashcraft - Best Man
Name: Brian Ashcraft

Age: 26

Hometown: Wichita, KS - West Side!

Tell me about yourself... Sarah (my wife) and I recently moved back to Wichita after living in Phoenix Arizona for almost 3 years. We decided to move back to be closer to those we love and to start our own family soon. Being a percussionist, apartment living in a big city was not the best. Thankfully I am able to play again comfortably. I’m playing drums in two bands now, The Chime Owls and Antibacterial Cereal. I also help out with The Basement Show on Friday nights. I am currently working in the Audio Visual Industry.

How long have you known Brett? We've been friends officially since 1997, my sophomore year of high school.

How did you and Brett meet? I remember first meeting Brett through Justin Moody and Jeff Vidricksen. I can remember vividly meeting him for the first time. I was playing a bass drum in pep-band at a high school basketball game. Brett and Justin came down to see me. They were going to hang out at Brett's that night and invited me. Brett had a repetition of being a funny dude and I knew Moody was a good time. The rest of the night was all about Brett's famous cheese dip, the new Jane's Addiction album "Kettle Whistle" and chocolate chip waffles. We've been friends ever since. Over the years Brett's been a class-mate, a co-worker, a band-mate, a room-mate and most of all a great friend.

What is your favorite thing about Brett? My favorite thing about Brett is his sense of humor. I really enjoy his company because he can always make me laugh. He's good to get stupid with if you know what I mean.

What is your least favorite thing about Brett? Well, I'll be honest that I thought Brett was a "big jerk-tough guy" before I actually met him. I'm not really sure why, I just got the impression that he was a bully. It may have been the black leather jacket and the backwards Goddard baseball hat he always used to wear or maybe because I always saw him with the jocks because he played baseball. Anyway my assumptions quickly dissolved after I started to hang out with Brett. I found that behind his "hard-ass", bear like exterior, Brett is a big sweet heart.

Describe Brett in three words:Hilarious (one of the funniest guys I know), Generous (with his time and abilities), Harmonious (laid-back, not causing a fuss)

What is your funniest memory of Brett? Wow, there are so many to choose from (and most of them are not appropriate to put on this website). I would have to say there where a lot of good times hanging out at Brett's parents house in Auburn Hills. We used to do some really silly things. For example light various objects on fire and smash them with a sledgehammer, you know regular male high school activity. I remember taking pictures of lighting a cup full of some liquid and lighter fluid, circled with peanut M&Ms. Some how Dixie (Brett's Mom) saw the picture and was pretty mad. We could have burned the house down, but we didn't and that's all that matters. I have to thank Brad & Dixie for all the good times at there house.

Do you have any last words of wisdom for Brett before he gets married? No words of wisdom just encouragement. You are about to embark on the wonderful journey of marriage, a new chapter in your lives together. Just remember that your relationship with Abby is like a garden. If you don't care for it, the beautiful flowers that are there now will soon be gone. Make sure that she knows that you love her daily. Even though you think she already knows, she needs to hear it. Marriage is great because it's a process. It's a flame that must be preserved and cherished. Listen to me with my garden and fire analogies! What I'm trying to say is take care of Abby, keep the challenges that you will face in perspective and most of all congrats!
