John Nevitt - Bridesman Name: John Nevitt Age: 35 Hometown: I call Wichita home. Tell me about yourself... Above all things I am a huge fan of horror films. This fascination was preceeded by a love of all those disaster films from the 70's where a bunch of washed-up movie stars at the end of their careers try unsuccessfully to revive them by dying in: an airplane crash, a burning building, a derailed train, a gondola snapping from its cables, a capsized ocean liner,an earthquake, The Hindenburg, a nuclear powered bus, a zoo with really weak fences, etc. But I guess this was supposed to be about me and not Shelly Winters doing her impression of a whale by swimming through the hull of the upturned SS Poseidon. I also love cats. I have two of them: a grey and white princess named Anna (full name: Anastasia Jaqueline Smith Nevitt) and an orange Manx named TomTom (full name: Thomas Alexander Pussycat Nevitt). I could go on and on about them but I won't since I'm supposed to say something about myself. Maybe what this really says about me is that I need to get out more. How long have you known Abby? Since 2006 How did you and Abby meet? I met Abby while working with her at Verizon. I have to say that Abby initiated the friendship as I don't remember being the most outgoing among my coworkers. We found common ground in our dislike of a coworker who shall remain nameless ( her last name rhymed with Doody!). Out of all the people I worked with, Abby was the only one I kept in contact with after we no longer worked there. That was a transitional time for me since I had just moved back from Washington, DC and realized I no longer knew the people I had been friends with before. Well, I knew them; I just didn't like them. That was when Abby introduced me to Brett and all of their mutual friends. Since then, I have been subjected (willingly) to intense games of Balderdash, guest spots on The Basement Show, and all-around good times. What is your favorite thing about Abby? My favorite thing about Abby is her ability to sound happy and perky even when she's mad. What is your least favorite thing about Abby? (John left this one blank... We will take that to mean that there are no least favorite things :-) Describe Abby in three words: Warm, funny, competitive What is your funniest memory of Abby? My funniest memory of Abby is her getting upset at all of us for ruining Balderdash with all our "non-serious" answers. It wasn't supposed to be funny. But it was. Do you have any last words of wisdom for Abby before she gets married? Well, Brett and Abby, you've seen enough of my dating life to know that I probably shouldn't be giving marriage advice. All I can say is keep doing what you're doing, be open to changing times and circumstances to help you through all situations good, bad, or indifferent. And, don't have kids too soon because your friends are selfish and don't want to share you just yet.
